FLANGES

STEEL PIPE FITTINGS, PIPE FITTINGS SUPPLIERS

Steel Piping Italy is a reputable supplier of flanges in multiple materials and various grades. We also specialize in supplying custom-made, client-specific requirements of flanges.

The types of flanges we supply

  • Weld-Neck Flange- This type of flange has a welded neck at the end of the pipe. Used for high-pressure applications to reduce stress concentration. These flanges are usually made of forging and are usually butt-welded to the pipe. Welded neck flanges have a longer life than slip-on flanges under load.
  • Lap Joint Flanges- (LJ Flanges) are used in pipelines with lap pipes or wrap stubs. The lap joint flange consists of two components, a stub end, and a loose support flange. The butt end is welded to the pipe and the support flange is free to move on the pipe. Use lap flanges if you need to disassemble frequently and space is limited.

  • Slipon Flange- SlipOn flanges are popular with many clients because they are generally cheaper than weld neck flanges. These pipe flanges slide on the pipe. It is made with an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the pipe. These add-on parts are connected to the pipe using fillet welds at the top and bottom of the flange.
  • Welded Socket Flange- The welded socket flange has an internal socket into which the pipe fits. Fillet welding is done from the outside of the pipe. Socket weld flanges are similar to slip-on flanges, but with bores and counterbores. The countersunk hole is slightly larger than the outer diameter. The diameter of the smaller hole in the matching pipe corresponds to the ID so that the pipe can be pushed into the flange as well as the coupling flange.
  • Blind Flange- A blind flange is a round plate with all relevant screw holes and no center hole. Because of this property, this flange is used to close the ends of the piping system and the openings in the pressure vessel. Blind Flange is like a round plate without a center stop, but with all the correct screw holes. This blind flange is available in a variety of sizes and materials and is used to mold the ends of pipes, valves, or device nozzles. These may be custom-made or machined to accommodate shrinking nominal size pipes. Blind flanges are commonly used in the petrochemical industry, pipeline construction, public services, and water services. Blind pipe flanges are often used in high-pressure applications.
  • Threaded Flange- Threaded flanges, also known as threads, have threads in the flange holes and are threaded to fit the pipe with the corresponding male thread. This flange is used in a variety of industrial applications. This type of joint connection is quick and easy, but not suitable for high pressure and high-temperature applications. Threaded flanges are primarily used in utilities such as air and water. Threaded flanges are similar to slip-on flanges, but the holes have threads. Its main advantage is that it can be assembled without welding.
